Dark Fader

We developed our sensor gloves and computer-sequencer-programs for nearly 7 years now and on saturday we finally played our second concert after a long time. It was a great feeling. The gloves worked well, the Max/MSP patches worked well, the audience was nice and we even could play with an octaphonic sound-installation. We are very […]

Autumn 2016 Rehearsing Session #1

After more than one year of pure hardware and software development, Dark Fader (Roald Baudoux, Peer Baierlein) has rehearsed again. I also have a glove now. The new creative possibilities offered by the revised configurations need to be mastered a bit more, so we have cancelled our participation to #BEM16 and have rather focused on preparing the […]

phase 2 – sensor glove

Yesterday I received my new sensor glove from Stefan May. After how many months of developing? Yes, quite a lot…. I’m curious if everything will work as planned. I have a gyroscope, x/y/z tracking (with which I can create a virtual cube), flex sensors and 4 buttons. A lot of new possibilities for my new […]

phase 1 – max/msp patcher

Today I finished the programming of my new virtual instrument – after 15 months of very hard work, hundreds of hours and some great help of my very good friend and musical partner Roald Baudoux. I hope that Stefan May can finish the fitting hardware (my sensor glove) by the end of this week. The plan […]

Now I have to finish my part of the software and then the testing and debugging period will start before Stefan will build me a more advanced version. […]

New Patcher

My new computer program on which I’m working since almost 8 months is nearly finished. A very important part is still missing – my sensor glove. But for this I need the help of a friend who is better in making complicated hardware. I hope everything will be ready for the next rehearsing session with Dark […]

Ootsidebox in use

With the help of the developer Jean Noël Lefebvre who programmed a ‘Peer-customized-Arduino-sketch’ for me (thanx so much Jean Nöel !), the ootsidebox is connected to my new Max/MSP patcher and is working as expected. Super ! I’m happy. Now I have gesture control with 3-dimensional co-ordinates (X, Y, and Z axes).
